My friend Suzan, who owns and operates "Grandma's Little Girls" came over on Saturday to do a promotional photoshoot for this gorgeous baptismal gown she just finished. She primarily creates life-like dolls but has lately delved into a more delicate undertaking by sewing this beautiful christening gown for our mutual friend's baby.
The gown is made of heirloom materials, a light cotton- almost a
linen, and of course lace. It's a more traditional type of gown that our grandparents and great-grandparents may have worn. Here you can see some of the detail of the embroidery on the front of the dress. There is a slip worn underneath the dress which is made of the same light cotton material with the baby's name and date of birth embroidered on the bottom.
Here you can see how big this gown really is. We sat her in a bumbo seat and spread it around her.
Suzan also made a matching bonnet and slippers. This baby doesn't like things on her head so she didn't keep it on very long but it looked so darn cute.
You can see more in our "Commercial" gallery. If you would like more information on how to get one of your own, please fill out the contact form and include your contact info to relay to Suzan.
